Re: 9mm revolvers
Regular practice with compact .32 pistol/revolver [ as ammo is easy to get ]which can be carried all the time as habit and loaded with six rounds of hollow point .32 s&w long in case of revolver is good stopper by any standards ,this is what i prefer , experienced guys can add on this. This is the most practicle solution i am adopting as per Indian condictions.Out of fancy anybody can buy any thing but real gun fight needs real practice to survive . Cheers James..............

Hmm... so no regular supply with anyone... I thought it might be something like that, as the .32 S&W Long is NOT on the list of calibres/ cartridges that are allowed to be imported by dealers. The only imported .32 S&W Long cartridges that are usually available are the target load wadcutters that pistol shooters import... some of these eventually find their way to the open market at high prices - even though they are totally useless for any self-defence use!james";p="35487 wrote:REMINTON 4 years old , the dealer told that he got 50 pieces from foreign diplomat . james.....

Re: 9mm revolvers
@ 250 not a bad price, given that imported ammo has a substantial shelf life.

try out a simple test-get 3 old telephone directories-(with cell phones, who needs em anyways )
dip one in a bucket of water for 10 min until completely wet, keep at 15m and let off a round -with rest if you want. check for penetration in cm and expansion of the bullet. If it penetrates first book-wet 2nd book and try again.
Ensure you have safe backstop and follow all other gun safety precautions!
Will be good to see the results.
as for Indian conditions, with pre hospital transport non existent / usually jammed by ignorant traffic, limitations of blood banks and products, and short lead time to the poor surgeon, should do ok!
I have had a couple of abdominal 315 GSW survive though...
