First Handguns I ever shot

Today was the day I could shoot a handgun for the first time in my life..

I had visited a friend of mine who is a hunter and has got a good collection of guns..together we went to a range and one of those days i'll remember for a long time to come:)
I should say I had a good choice, a Luger with a longer barrel, a S&W .357 revolver, a Sig 9mm, a H&K 9mm and a browning .22 and THE colt 1911..

The Best was the Colt .45...wow!! what a gun..

First I started with a luger 9mm...50 rounds

I wanted to load it myself



A bit scared about the recoil but then



Then the sig another

Loading the sig


Didn't know how many go in:), struggling with the sore thumb:)



The .357 the first revolver I ever shot in my life..and another 30-40 rounds





Getting the empties out


Borrowed the H&K from the shooter next to us by trading our .357 and

And then the magical .45 ACP..



And the grin on the face before I shoot this thing:)



And the cleaning up for the 5th time..



Then the rest of time we shot .22

I should say thanks to my friend, I had the experience of my life.. my friend was wondering why i wanted the pics taken...he would never know given our gun laws in our country maybe I might not shoot these for a long long time again..

What he said. Lucky you, Ranjit. That .357 looks awesome. I am partial to the wheelguns. How did the Luger feel in comparison to the rest?

Ranjeet,

Congratulations! Anyone who loves the 1911AI has very good taste indeed. A note on recoil - I dislike it myself - try a Weaver grip or any of the other two handed grips and you should find it more comfortable.

Well, I was always fascinated with the luger, but i must say with its wooden grip and its tendency to jam, it got stuck 4 times in 50 shots.., I would prefer the .45 anyday..and the difference in kind of recoil you get from a .357 revolver and .45 is also slightly different..one kind of kick and another kind of a push..

My friend has got some rifles, from .22 to 8x75, maybe sometime i get to shoot them as well. Its hunting season now and the rifle ranges are booked full.

All said and done, I still love trap shooting the most:)

Hi Mehul,

Yeah Mehul I must say the .45 1911, is a very good pistol No jams, and true about the recoil, I tried to shoot with both my hands but I was shooting better with one hand..maybe its got to do with a lot of shooting with a .177 air pistol that I have..

None the less, if it were one pistol that I would have ..it would be a Colt 1911..but before that a 12g shotgun..

For making my weekend and also I'm happy to find another 45 fan-way top go buddy!
I still miss the weekend shoots at the range with a plethora of working guns-mostly 9 and 45 and a few 38spl ankle guns thrown in .
Enjoy that big 'smith-what was it ? a 686?
Was this your first time with a 45? I second Mehul, try a Weaver or 'Modified Ranjeet weaver' stance -double handed grip good for the big boys.

what are the gun laws for pistols in Germany like, when it comes to non-citizens?

Do they allow you to buy a pistol?

Is carrying allowed?

German laws are almost the same for citizens and non-citizens, Again as I had mentioned sometime earlier, you can get a sport shooting license or a Hunting license.

Carrying I am not sure is allowed.

This is something I would definately do.

Btw, I was still hanging out with my same friend and he said, let's have a look at some big calibers ...See what I got to look, of course I did not shoot them, otherwise wouldn't be typing out this post:)

The one Mehul wants to buy..What say Naren, you know this calibre..I saw a pic of yours with the same
