Was just going thru your previous threads on Gsmith pellets etc..so wht was the chrono test showing. Coz if ur getting a 950 fps for 10k...that's a steal! Accuracy of course wud have to be checked...but still I feel it's a steal!
well it doesnt do that 950fps with gsmith pellets nor can the 350 magnum.,u will know if u go through all the posts as well and chrono ur own using the gsmith pells, they are too heavy!!,
the pellet wt is damn important to get to such claimed figs with lighter pellets used by manufacturers, but as rusty says in one of the post in that topic..power is not what matters, its the accuracy that matters,so as long as your diana is accurate dont bother about the power as of now its a good powerful shooter and wud take a few hundred more nice pellets before its broken in to shoot more smooth and sweet, dont go for too heavy or too light pellets, try the h&n FTT,there was some for sale in the wanted section a few days back,or ask any of your friends or relatives to get some tins along if they were coming to india from abroad.
cheers sanjiv.

Ok so hows the gun and how does it feel ? Weight ? Weight is very important to me. I have an Indian make called 0.22 GI (and no, its not GI Joe toys LOL) and I hate it when the gun wobbles in my lead hand due to its weight, when I'm stooting it standing (offhand). Makes it hard to shoot straight.

BTW. whats that abt an imported gun for 10K ?

for sure anand is right ...
its a fact to improve strength of your arms and rewarding you with longer holding periods.,do a lil wt training with wts more than your rifle, try holding them longer after lifting. All participants before a competition generally do that to improve holding time and stability.

this is another link where u can get information regading most of the imported pellets available, can also place order if in the uk- http://www.wighillparkguns.co.uk/produc ... sp?cat=186

stick to around 15-16 grains of pellet wt for good fpe and trajectory, and ftt's also wud fit exact in the bore.

ur other question -'whats that abt an imported gun for 10K ?,'is beyond understandable, please post a clearer question.

sanjiv is correct, i wasn't joking at all. shooting...... in all it's guises, requires the individual to be in his peak physical form. how else would you survive the whole shoot lugging a heavy trap gun? or do the total sporting clays circuit without feeling out of breath and off put at the last stands? or hold still with a full bore/.22 or even a pistol for the right amount of time .

all, well....most....excepting composite stocked, foreign springers are heavy. my IHP 35 weighs a fraction of my air arms or weirauch. so, if you do want to take up shooting seriously, start a fitness programme, specially weight trainig for the upper limb. just enough to help you with your hold times.

Hi Sanjiv...hmm...u r right abt tht...but my personal opinion on this is if an air rifle can be hd with lower fps (abt 600 fps too) but with good accuracy & all this for abt 10k...it sure is worth a buy!! Wot say? Yep...at the moment have called on all my far flung cousins & imported pellets wud be arriving soon!!

Hi Tarat...there there...now u r asking questions which compliment my GQ (gunning quotient) :D To tell u abt the diana 350:
weight: just perfect. not too heavy at all. of course, in comparison to the other rifles a tad heavier..primarily coz of the longer barrel length.
Naah...no hopes of getting an imported one for 10k..not in the near possible future atleast. What Sanjiv was talking abt is a gun made by a Pune gunsmith which is quite powerful. More reviews abt it wud have to be looked up in the discussion threads or can be had from Sanjiv.

Hi Hami...right u r. Anyways, shooting is a good form of concentration & if limbs r not strong enough to sustain the lift etc for sustained periods,it's not a good state of health to be in!

Just finished 90 minutes of shooting with the 350 & m raring to go more!!

Whilst it does not hurt to be fit, shooting is one sport that can be enjoyed equally by young and old and those inbetween. By old I mean 70 to 80+ years in age.

Anyone who merely uses just physical strength to shoot well will invariably end up being disappointed. Far better to use your body's skeletal structure as a support, where possible, and to stay relaxed at all times.

Muscle tone and memory can be developed and it does not take all that very long.

I am a member of the Yellow forum (Steve in CT's forum) and I often see pics posted by guys shooting their guns. I observe that they almost always rest the forearm of the gun on an external support. Even when hunting, they rest the gun on shooting sticks.

So I think there certainly is some weight to the idea of building strength for better / more stable holding when shooting offhand.

On the other hand, I have also seen many pics of toddlers shooting at competitions and they kind of thrust their hips forward and rest their elbow of the lead arm on the hips. The elbow is kept as vertical as possible to take off the weight of the gun. Thats using the skeletal structure as Mack The Knife says. But I also feel that the center of gravity on these guns is much nearer to the trigger than on mine. My gun is front heavy in the sense that the center of gravity is about 8 inches or so away from the trigger.

A judicious combination of muscle tone and technique may be way to go .......... ???

Just my two cents .......

Just two days back I bought a beautiful Diana 350 Magnum, 0.22 Cal for just Rs. 55,000/- and additional Rs 11,000/- for a scope. Enjoying this beautiful gun, more than firing it, I am admiring its beauty. I am from Chennai. The gun is very very accurate and very powerful. I use H & Barrauda extra heavy pellets.
