Stock & scope for .22LR Brno Model 1

Hi can anyone suggest a better imported stock source for my brno model i .22 lr.my usa bro told me of BOYD STOCKS.also which will be the best quality cleaning material like rods,boreguides and borelights . i speak of the US market essentially. will getting a .22 stock from USA be a painful affair with the customs or is it permitted.thanks

,what can be done to improve trigger pull of my brno mod 1 it virtually has no trigger pull . a number of times the weapon has fired prematurely because of absolutely no trigger pull.there is a pin assembly under the trigger mechanism which i tried to adjust but no faida.andy

posted an email to a BRNO factory veteran now settled in the USA called brnomann/denny( email [email protected]) as regards a replacement stock for my brno mod 1 and a couple other doubts. his reply was prompt( he does sell brno stocks about $60-100). any BRNO walla interseted in any technical details can get in touch with him on this email id.For whatever reasons he was quite a praises for the brno( sorry cant reproduce the email dont know ho to copy the dam thing in my vista system).andy

Any retsrictions on carriage of a rifle stock by air from USA. advise please

seems no brno chap interested anyway still hope for some response in this excellent forum. nxt Q is is it worth fitting a mannlicher style stock in a brno mod 1 rifle.and again can such a stock be brought by air by someone i mean i hope it isnt a banned item and what duty will it attract.thanks

Apologies but I have no experience about importing a rifle stock. But this is my personal opinion and not a correct or legally proven one...i don't think the stock should be a problem and so go ahead and get it. If its general duty then any Indian is allowed a duty free limit of Rs. 15,000 on his or her personal baggage. So maybe it'll be duty free as its just a lump of wood.

hi dev brnomann tells me brnos were never with mannlicher style stocks, he left the reason a blank saying he ll xplain nxt time. anyway that fact not withstanding any major drawbacks of such a stock on a brno.thanks andy

I am sorry Andy I don't know much about stocks and all but what I've seen of a Brno the Mannlicher won't normally fit as it seems like a stutzen stock unless I am talking thru my hat. Lets hope that Grumpy, Mark or Mack The Knife answer they be the kats at this game.

If a full length stock isn't properly inletted the barrel could touch the inside of the stock causing accuracy issues. If this were to happen in your case you would need to freefloat the barrel.

Also, if you use a sling as a steadying aid, you will be pulling the fore-end to the left (for a right handed shooter) and this could cause the stock to touch the barrel at a certain point which could lead to less than optimum accuracy.

If by a `Mannlicher style` stock you mean a full-length Stutzen then Brno DID offer such stocks up until they ceased trading last year. You can`t simply fit one however as they required a barrel band and fixture at the muzzle.
Mack The Knife, there was a really nice Mannlicher Schoenauer M1950 Stutzen being offered in the UK a few months ago which had been extensively accurised including having the action bedded and the barrel free-floating. The barrel wasn`t fixed to the muzzle barrel band - although it looked quite normal - but was free-floating within it. A clever bit of work. I asked about the rigidity of the stock and the owner replied that the stock was rigid enough - with a little relieving - not to touch the barrel at any point even when suspended from the sling.

i got the rifle stock for my BRNO made to order by Vijay Mistri at Tahir Arms and he charged me only 2500 for walnut material.He has also made astock for my 3006 from rosewood and you can try him as this does not involve import. I have seen Nylon 66 stocks for BRNO at GURNEE and this is nesr CHICAGO.The price was 55USD. Dont take a chance as the Model No. 1 is discontinued and These stocks fi also Marlin Glenberg 0.22 with clip magazine

Hi grumpy any chances of such a stutzen style stock avaialible in the usa and if so where can i look there. my brother planing to come back he can get it along with the required accessories but even then i seek your expert advise on whether such stocks can be correctly fitted here in INDEEYAH.hi sunilssn tele number of tahir arms please.andy

Can one get a better trigger assembly for this rifle and is it a permisible import if carried by someone.sorry for expanding the brno horizon.

Trigger kits are available for CZs from at least two US manufacturers so I think it quite likely that someone offers a kit for Brnos.
Andy, as I said, a Stutzen type stock requires specialist parts and fitting so you are highly unlikely to be able to find the required stock and parts. You could probably find a stocker/gunsmith who would be able to do such a job - especially in the US, UK and Germany - but you are talking megabucks.
