Hello Pran, the walls of the furnace are about 3" thick! Well I couldnt source any insulating bricks so I had to makedo with some homemade stuff basically adding lime to the cement sand mix...
Good heavens! Where did you find a cylinder that thick?

I'm not very sure what they use it for, so can't help you on that. We'll get back to this after you're done with all the brass knobs in your house
>also melting your own brass from scrap is quite fun!
You still didn't tell how thick your casting is.
Have fun!

The metal cylinder is a discarded carbide gas cylinder in which I cast a lining of cement lime mixture since I was unable to source any foundry insulating bricks..

Well its' almost 3 inches thick and I expect to get 4 handguard pieces out of it

Got one made by the blacksmiths close to IGNOU - for use at the farm. The material used was old leaf springs... crude but effective stuff...
Cheers!

Hello guys I'm baaack!
The Mizo Bowie project had faced some delay due to various reasons beyond my control some of which included the acquisition of a Air Arms MPR S400 target rifle and also a .32 Astra revolver. (pics of these will come soon)
Happily the Mizo Bowie project is now once again revived and currently 'online' with the arrival of the self designed custom made sample leather sheath from Kanpur.

Although pricing is not yet available, I would like to get some feedback on this before I can order in bulk.
Thanks
Jonah

Looking nice Jonah!
So when does the production run begin? And what would be the final price for the production models?
If you're going to produce them in quantity, you may need to refine your processes a bit to lower your costs and maintain consistent quality...
A fine effort indeed, wish you all the best...
Cheers!
