Not the best way to change tyres...
Man hurt using gun to change tyre
A US man has injured himself in both legs after attempting to loosen a stiff wheel-nut by blasting it with his gun.
The 66-year-old man from Washington state was repairing his car outside his home when the accident took place.
Shooting at the wheel from arm's length with his 12-gauge shotgun, he was peppered with buckshot and debris.
The man - who police say was on his own and not intoxicated - was taken to hospital with severe, but not life-threatening, injuries.
The man, from South Kitsap, 10 miles (16km) southwest of Seattle, had been repairing his Lincoln Continental for two weeks, according to the police, and had removed all but one of the nuts on the right rear wheel.
Frustrated by the one remaining nut which refused to budge, he resorted to fire power in an effort to shift it.
"He's bound and determined to get that lug nut off," said Deputy Scott Wilson, a spokesman from the sheriff's office.
He sustained injuries from his feet to the middle of his abdomen, with some pellets reaching as high as his chin, police said.

That must been very frustrating. The old man should've tried heating the nut with a propane torch and chiseling it out.

ABSOLUTELY BLOODY CRAZY !!!!
Firearm safety comes first and the foremost. I can simply imagine the surgeon's plight who treated this "great " man !!! And if the surgeon was a firearm lover /shooter then I hope that along with Tetanus Toxoid he gave him a hollering about safety precautions.

Probably been watching too many B grade "masaalaa" flicks where the hero shoots chains/ padlocks/ doorlocks etc. - like cutting butter with a hot knife, and no fear of ricochets...
Cheers!

There are similarities between this moron and the idiot in Bangalore who took a potshot on a pig and
ended up killing his neighbour.
ended up killing his neighbour.

Re: Not the best way to change tyres...
I`m damned if I can figure out if I can figure out how he thought he was going to loosen the wheel nut by shooting it.............unless he left the wheel brace on and shot one of the `spokes` ( or the lever, depending on the type. ) Maybe he didn`t.....as otherwise the chap would probably sustained injuries occasioned by the flying wheel brace.
The loss of his nuts has almost certainly done future generations a favour - gotta get rid of those dodgy genes somehow
As an aside, I wonder if you can obtain a hammered finish on metal by shooting it with `steel` shot ?
