Hello All
Firstly, I MUST say that this is a very informative and well-managed site, thanks to Dr. Srikanth, who introduced me to this.
Next ... great topics and participation from all; nice knowing you all.
Lastly, a brief introduction about me.
Me, Anand C K Shashidhar, 34 M Bangalorean, have been actively participating in the .22 Prone ISSU matches representing Karnataka for the last 7 years. Am extremely interested in any topic that resembles a gunshot. Have made a small mark in the national arena, and have participated in 6 National championships and 2 Mavlankars. The delay for my introduction, although I joined in a couple of weeks back - looking at some very nice discussions in the forums here.
Its also great to see some friends here.
This is wishing you all the very best for every endeavor and Happy Shooting!

Re: Namaskaar
TenX basically refers to a shot which has hit the abs center of the bull. As we all know a shot that ruptures the ten ring is given ten points. And in finals of matches, the scoring is even more precise with scores awarded as 10.1, 10.2 ... 10.10 depending on the proximity of the center of the hole to the center of the ten ring. The closer the shot is to the center of the ten ring, the more the 10.X value is. There fore, TenX (10.10) is every shooter's true aim (atleast mine )Grumpy";p="29361 wrote: Hi TenX.......I wonder what the derivation of that `tag` is ? LOL

Anand,
I think you are teaching Grumpy how to suck eggs. I'll give you two hints...
1) Grumpy wasn't refering to the scoring system.
2) Grumpy is a dirty old man.
BTW, I thought the highest one could get is 10.9
Pran,
I did go to the range but it was closed.
Funnily enough, unlike ammo, there is no shortage of clays as you HAVE to take a minimum of one full box. You don't have to shoot them all up and you are permitted to take them home and use them the next time around.
The speed of both trap and skeet machines is dictated by ISSF / Olympic rules and as far as I know, nobody changes the speed.

Re: Namaskaar
Obviously Anand is somewhat literally minded.............................
- I suppose that If I asked why Eley named a brand of their .22 lr ammunition `Tenex`someone would be bound to offer an explaination
Dodger, as far as 16 year old girls are concerned any bloke over the age of 21 is a `dirty old man`. Have you been trying to chat up schoolgirls again ?
A word of advice: Children and clays are incompatible. I once had several thousand clays stacked in our outhouse. When I eventually came to grab a case I found that they were all open - and EVERY clay was smashed. It transpired that my boys had discovered that if they pushed down hard on a pile of clays they made a very satisfying `cracracracracrack` sound............................ !

Funny you should say that. I am seriously thinking of taking up a job as a PT and swimming instructor at a posh girls school in Bangalore.Grumpy";p="29383 wrote:Dodger, as far as 16 year old girls are concerned any bloke over the age of 21 is a `dirty old man`. Sorry Grumps but they don't have multiple vacancies.
