Thanks for that info - i did check with Kovi shop just now and it seems that they do not have the synthetic washer and have only Leather washers (bucket type).

If we get one of those as a sample then we can duplicate it.

Assuming the piston washer on your airgun is held to the piston with a screw, then you could buy a small bit of PTFE (commonly known by the DuPont brand name - Teflon) and have it machined to fit the piston and cylinder.

thanx Mack The Knife for that ptfe info,
if the machining works out well,it should do the job,but i guess it would be a tough thing to machine since its coeff of friction must be very low,otherwise please let me know if this material could be moulded.
does PTFE come in small cubes?

I have seen a couple of machined PTFE piston washers and have heard off a few more from friends. I am not sure what shape PTFE is available in but the only example I have seen was a cylinder.

if i get a piece of ptfe cylinder about 3-4 inches i would make the washer n post pictures and details.
Any idea what kinda shop would deal in ptfe?

in case its a leather washer and that too a new one,what oil would you recommend,to dip it overnight before using it...
will you consider silicon oil ?
or would that be anyother commercially available oil ?

nb-wud you be travelling to pune on the 10th of oct,or wud it be only in the last few days of the year,(considering the chrono only for testing and the targets )

I am sorry but I do not have the ability to travel back in time. As for the last week of December, I doubt if I will have much free time, so don't expect me to bring the chrono along.
