So long as the use is ONLY airguns it is perfectly legal and requires NO paperwork whatsoever... For a firearms range you would need permissions from the local DM/ SDM and/or police clearance.

Deepinder and Diskaon,

Just so that there is no misunderstanding, Abhijeet is refering to an airgun range at home for personal use. However, if one was to open an airgun range for commercial use, then I am sure permission from the relevant authorities would be required.

home range for airgun shooting ,for personal use,as far as i remember one of the ifg member long time back had fabricated a home made target machine and it was good fun,dont know whether those posts were still there,
but a home range whatsoever is always interesting.

well for fire arm range
in punjab we do lotsa trap out at our friends farm in t hills, no civilization around
so no legal problems so far :)
thats how most of the shooters practised before several ranges came up

shotgun ranges should be fine, i think. as long as you keep a sensible distance from living beings. you can actually see moving traffic ( :shock: )in your line of sight (far off, i hasten to add) at the trap range at lakenheath.

fire arm (read rifle and pistol ranges), with their backstop requirements would be more complicated to plan, possibly involving more legal issues.
