Sanjiv,
>i ride an electra 350
Nice to know that.
>,the same one owned my inder
Inder's now riding your Motorcycle?
>how long u been riding a bullet
Three years.
I own two stds- a '71 and a '74. I used to be a part of a few Bangalore based clubs in the past.Bullet clubs and the attitude of it's members pi$$ me off.I've been a member of the Bulletech group on yahoogroups for sometime.
Stupid mechanics here in Bangalore drove me to work on my bike myself. It's grown from a necessity to a passion now.
You can check out Nandan's website. You'll find the maintenance section informative.

Re: Royal Enfield Bullet UCE
no pran it was an error on my part to write incorrectly ,inder owns the same model i had owned earlier not the same bike....
i too have not much idea about the bangalore club members but here in pune i am been riding from the start of the club,it was the first bike club in india other than enfield's own.our club was formed in 2002,...
ya when i had bought my first bullet arnd 10 yrs back it was nandan i had approached to get my doubts clear thru' cybersteering,...later on he had given me the information about dilip bam in pune, who was a nice auto journalist ,he cleared my doubts better...now its like i have become a total bike mechanic only for my bikes..i totally work on my own bike and its for the better than to end the day with a hanging face by trusting these morons who consider themselves mechanics on the street...specially the ones in the dealers really su#ks...
anyways ur bikes are the best enfields with the perfect stroke ,...i am sure they have the heavier crankshafts and flywheel...,i had fancied a 69 model for sale here, but due to short of cash since i got the hw75,i had to stop for the month!
pran do u like touring other than shooting?...what guns do u own?...
recently i restored a suzuki katana gsx750s which is the last and only bike remaining in india, although unconfirmed reports say that there was onemore in bangalore,...its a 83 model and i got it when it was in the verge of getting scrapped,,...it was my first project and a big one,...had no idea what i cud do...but i managed it and did well,...recently for the first time i participated in a major classic bike event here and my work got appreciated for the first time,...i felt nice that someone atleast liked what i managed being a amatuer in restoration...
if u r interested in imported classics i can send u a pic of the suzuki i restored too...u wud like i guess since its not the plastic jap sport bikes these days u see....
cheers sanjiv

Sanjiv,

Okay.
>it was nandan i had approached to get my doubts clear thru' cybersteering
We live in a small world
>i have become a total bike mechanic Laughing only for my bikes
That makes two of us. Our tribe in Bangalore is growing.
>these morons who consider themselves mechanics on the street...specially the ones in the dealers really su#ks...
I totally agree with you.
>i am sure they have the heavier crankshafts and flywheel
That's why I prefer oldies.Beautiful thump at lower rpms.
>i had fancied a 69 model for sale here
What was the price tag? If you're looking for oldies at throwaway prices try searching in TN.
>pran do u like touring other than shooting?
Not done many big ones.My native's 77kms from Bangalore and I prefer to ride when I'm travelling alone.
>what guns do u own?
Only an Indian made .22 air rifle.
>recently i restored a suzuki katana gsx750s which is the last and only bike remaining in india, although unconfirmed reports say that there was onemore in bangalore,...its a 83 model and i got it when it was in the verge of getting scrapped
Would love some pics and a detailed write up of what you've done to it.You can mail me at [email protected]
>for the first time i participated in a major classic bike event here and my work got appreciated for the first time,...i felt nice that someone atleast liked what i managed being a amatuer in restoration...
WOW! You're working on bikes full time?
>if u r interested in imported classics i can send u a pic of the suzuki i restored too...
Would love to see them.
btw, have you seen this movie on Burt Munro- "The fastest Indian in the world"

Depends on what you're looking for.Look through the 'casebook' on his website and then decide if you're on the same wavelength.snIPer";p="27922 wrote:Pran - how is Nandan - have heard that he is good but havent got any first hand version of how he does things.

Gr8! I love Bullet as well.
I have enfield 500 ES. Did not go for TB because the gear are on the "Wrong" side. This is my second bullet. Apart from this I own RD350.
Last year in April I did Delhi to Mumbai on enfield. It was fun.
Even though the turtle and Stallion were filled to brim, no issues and got a nice average of 33 KPL. though the petrol in which I filled after crossing jaipur did give me few problems.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the wine I drink I feel shame. Then I think about the workers in the vineyards and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn’t drink this wine, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, “It is better that I drink this wine and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.”
