Well if 26/11 Mumbai attacks is anything to go by then at best some minister would have given a speech & she would have gotten some small media coverage. She would be promised a decent reward but due to corruption & bureaucracy she would either have to forfeit it (at least to a certain degree) or would have needed to grind herself to dust in the process to claim it.

She would have been hauled by the Authorities.
Detained until her family and friends, came to her rescue.
Would have a tough time explaining, as to why she was carrying her 'Licensed Firearm'.
After all the harassment, she would end up surrendering her License.

And if the licensed handgun happened to be of great value, the politicians/police would have confiscated and deposited in the police Armory to have it endorsed on their license at leisure.
