Thank you for the kind words, Shooter.
I must digress and add, i HAVE used steel wool. 0000. In a cashmore 32” hammer ‘farmgun’.
Besides the acid etched finger prints on the barrel, there were patches of gunk in the bore, which warranted a trial with steel wool to see the damage. My luck was good and i managed to clean out the dark patch and even polish it out with fine valve grinding paste.
And went on to do up the gun to all its glory. Exclusive BP use.

If you are still looking for gun cleaning kits i did just come across this website reviewing what they call the Best Gun Cleaning Kits. I dont see the winchester kit on the list though.

Some of them seem like they might have more stuff then you would need, but i suppose you never know what brush size you may need some day and these keep everything organized.
