Hello everyone,
I am a retd army officer living in Chandigarh. I came on to Guns at a very early age of 6 in Ranikhet and thereafter have always been with Guns. I am onto guns-fishing-pets-a bit of innovation and thats about it.
I am happy to see IFG and the fact that today knowlege and information about guns is just a click away. With such facilities one can learn in days what we learnt in years.
I thought interest in Guns was dying down due to the current stringent laws - but seeing so many members here - tells me that this great legacy of individuals interested in guns and shooting still is very much alive and I say “Hats Off”to all of you

Always a pleasure to welcome an officer from the forces.what Arm or Service were you a part off.
Wyjoe,it was not Chandigarh but Champawat in Kumaon.Almost all his kills were in the Kumaon & Garhwal area.

Gentlemen,
I was from Artillery .My Father from Kumaon Regt. Yes it was Champawat,Kumaon and Garhwal hills where the tigers and panthers created enough terror for Jim Corbett to intervene and save human lives. They were then a fairly common sight - and I used to venture with my air gun into the same thickets - and enjoy that feeling of fear.I was about 7 then.Place Ranikhet.But I would never venture too far out.Upto 50 yards was Ok. - - - - and thats where it all started and continues to this day . I wonder what life would be without guns,fishing ,and outdoor sports
