KANNUR AIR GUNS
Please be careful while dealing with Kannur Air Guns for the following reasons:
1) He had offered me the Rifle Scope Model BSA Sweet 4-16-44 Made in England. I received the consignment and when I opened the packing, I was glad to see the original carton of BSA but when I opened the carton, to my utter dismay, I found a cheep Chinese model. The picture on the carton and the product too differ! This is pure cheating and is punishable under the Consumer Protection Laws.
2) When I tried to take up the issue with them, one Arun started hurling abusive language. When I cautioned him that I would sue him, he even went to the extent of alleging that I had asked him for an illegal firearm! Such a serious allegation that maligns my reputation and social standing!
Now, he will face court trial on two counts 1) Supply of fake/spurious products 2) Defamation under IPC 499 with a claim for damages.

Sue him.
At least cause him financial loss.
Whether or not scope can be imported legally or illegally the answerablity goes on seller not buyers.

Re: KANNUR AIR GUNS
This is an oxymoron.
My scope was confiscated by Cusloms & not given even though I showed that it was not a commercial import so I qualify under "restricted" import.
I find on the other hand scopes are imported in hundreds and sold with biils too attracting GST.
At some point of time court's judgement is needed to provide clarity or interpretation of the law.

Re: KANNUR AIR GUNS
If any dealer sale any scope with valid receipts with tax/GST paid then there is no point to say that the buyer has purchased a illegal product. It's the headache of the dealer, from where he aquired it that source is legal/legitimate or not.

Re: KANNUR AIR GUNS
All the scopes I got from USA were brought in checked in baggage and customs didn't bother. At the same time if they were illegal to bring in they were simply illegal but smuggled goods. All these discussions about scopes for ARs and suppressors are very vague. If you have a legally acceptable bill of purchase then you need not to worry whether you purchased it from an individual or a dealer.Basu wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 7:57 pmThis is an oxymoron.

Re: KANNUR AIR GUNS
I bought a scope from Amazon.com without remembering all this hassle. Some time later I received the letter from customs about forbidden Items and they asked the reasons for import. I showed them all the documentation of my air rifle and excuse of usage... 2 months later it arrived at my home.
