Do you EDC a knife or multitool?

Post by Mack The Knife » Mon Sep 11, 2006 11:59 am

Do you EDC (Every Day Carry) a knife or multitool?

If so, what is it?

Mine's a Victorinox Champ (for the past 28 years) or a Swisstool and have recently started carrying a Kershaw Vapor II in addition.

I usually carry a Victorinox Trailmaster, basically its the same as the Forestor except that it has a Philips screwdriver instead of a corkscrew. You can check it out at the Victorinox India product page.

Of course with the new security precautions (being taken) in public places, I often have to trek back to the parking (from say a cinema multiplex) and stash it in the dash, before they'll let me in! How I hate these terrorist ba****ds!

Cheers!

That's precisely what happened to me and that too in NOIDA of all places. How that place has changed...

It just occured to me, that whist I now stow the penknife in the glove compartment, I have this itsy-bitsy Victorinox on my key chain that has never drawn any comment or reaction.

Multitool

Post by paky » Mon Sep 11, 2006 11:54 pm

I have a Wenger Multitool (most probably traveler), Victrinox Classic SD Sterling. And also a couple of imitation Swiss style multitools, few pocket knives.

I use the Victrinox Classic SD very often and rarely use the others. I don?t carry tools with me and I prefer using single tools to multitools.

And now here is a link to the ultimate multitool (still in conceptual stage) which I am sure will be everybody?s favourite if it ever made:-

Also a link to a Multibit Screwdriver which I plan to buy:-
Picquic Multibit Screwdriver.

I have a no-name (http://www.knifecollection.com/skneck.html) neck knife that dfritz gave me.

I wear it around my neck once in a while. Sometimes I wear it to sleep, it is pretty slim, with the cover, and I don't feel it around my neck at all.

Not my EDC though.

My dad got a Victorinox Swiss Army pocket tool in the early 90s (not sure what model), never uses it, but still has it. I am bringing it back with me, when I go to India next month, and I plan on making it my EDC.

Yay, excited : )

Swiss Knife with some standard options crew driver etc, recently bought a "Husky" low end multitool. Reckon if Use it enough I can justify upgrading it.

I use to carry one small camping knife till I bought My Muela Inox. I carry it on weekdays tied around my ankle for better concealment. Last time when I was out in the bushes I carried a no-name multitool and camping knife in a belt sheath.

Are you sure it's concealed? Ever noticed that trouser hems tend to be higher when riding a bike?

Yep Mack The Knife, Fully concealed. Most of it goes into socks and my bare legs  are never visible while riding bike. Will show you next time I visit you.

Would love to carry a RMK (Mack The Knife Made Knife). So how's the progress on this one Mack The Knife ( tempering the blade would be the main problem, I believe) .

Take care,
