WP Webley Pocket revolver

Greetings to fellow IFG’ians and gun enthusiasts.
I am sharing pictures of WP Webley & Scott Pocket Revolver manufactured between 1914-1925, which is lovingly maintained in my family. Not much information is available on the internet about it, though it does have a mention in many books. I would love to know more about it from any of you who might have experience or knowledge about the revolver. Hoping to generate a healthy discussion about it so that we as owners are better informed about our valuable possession. Thank you.

I think it's still available in W&S website. 3 inch barrel pocket revolvers.

Hi. Yes my revolver very much resembles your grandfather’s revolver. But the serial number seems to be from a different series. Does yours still fire reliably. Does your revolver have the firing pin on its hammer ? Thanks for directing me to the other two posts.

Thanks Timmy. I too am pleasantly surprised by the number of people owning these revolvers. In most cases these seem to have been passed down in the family. I my case however, this belongs to my uncle (fathers younger brother, “Chacha“) also a retired cop. But our piece was not passed down in the family. He bought it at an astronomical price of 4L around 16 years back and had crudely kept it wrapped in a thick cloth. He used to periodically oil it, never carried it on person. Also has only fired 6 rounds at a range. Apparently the person whom he bought it from claimed that it has never been fired before, which is really hard to believe. But the blueing of the revolver is still original and in immaculate condition. Now this piece is with me for its upkeep and I ensure that’s it’s correctly stored in a moisture free sealed case with periodic cleaning/oiling. This ones just for the looks and admiration, don’t intended on ever carrying it.

NO,FIRRING PIN IS NOT ON HAMMER

also at the place where CAL 32 is written , its never Written on Webley
On Webley Revolver its Written "MARK IV .32" that too on Frame at (Top of Cylinder)

Mine isn’t re-blued and retains its original blueing as original threading is still evident. The serial number of my weapon is 42xx which puts it somewhere to be manufactured between 1914-25 as per arm-search-uk records. I have attached the records below. But you are right our weapons are not the same as first look would suggest.
