Since We're Talking About 45 Automatics . . .

You have the chance to buy Al Capone's 45 Automatic that his granddaughter is selling.

Note that this is the older 1911 style, not the later 1911A1, which can be differentiated by the straight mainspring housing and the lack of the frame being scalloped out behind the trigger. It also has target sights, tall and visible and the rear sight is adjustable. I see a "trigger shoe" on it, as well. I should imagine it's a pretty good shooter.

It can be yours, and the bidding starts at only $50,000

Al Capone is mainly seen as a mafia boss and a booze trader . Few people know his passionate side - as an affectionate boss , a very devoted and doting father a very committed family man. The guy even learned sign language to an extraordinary level because his son was deficient in speaking abilities. Talent wasted in anti social life .

His gun is no doubt a legend .
Guns belonging to Bonnie & Clyde , Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid and many more have been valued very highly .
Great men are not born great , they grow great .

I wonder if it qualifies as a curio?
