Nah sir . Not this way . The person carrying the gun can either be the license holder or a " Retainer " under the new rules .

Shouldn’t be a problem. Rest depends on understanding of the police incharge, incase the person carrying the revolver gets checked by police.

Posting an excrat from Arms Act 1959.

Please read carefully-

Proviso does not allow carrying for sale •

First para already says that Arms may be carried in accordance with the rules only .

Choose between pain of discipline or pain of regret .

Actually we don’t know the whole situation so the O.P will have to take the decision himself.

For example, if he has to send his revolver to gun shop then he can write ‘for repair’ in his ‘authority letter’ and that serves the purpose.

The Licensing Authorities have considerable discretion in allowing/authorizing some one on behalf of the licensee to transport/carry/deposit/take for inspection etc.
While "carry" in this context refers to carrying for the purpose that the license was granted for, the Licensing Authority may, at its discretion allow some one(even someone who is not a license holder) at the request of the Licensee.

None of this will matter if the weapon can be deposited at an armoury in the place that our serving Army Officer is stationed at, and then authorize the to send it to the place of actual sale. One way or another, it requires a little time and paperwork.
Regards,
Anand
