FACIAL RECOGNITION GLASSES IN CRIME CONTROL
Facial Recognition spectacles, designed for policing, use artificial intelligence. The device is connected to a Wi-fi tablet which allows the police to send in real-time images of people's faces taken in the field or lifted from photos or video and instantaneously compare them to the crime databases. If there is a match, the offender is caught immediately.

Re: FACIAL RECOGNITION GLASSES IN CRIME CONTROL
My understanding, based on a Deutsche Welle documentary, is that the Chinese have developed facial recognition to such a high degree that, even when people are wearing COVID face masks, the facial recognition software can identify everyone reliably. Also, their deployment of public surveillance cameras is so extensive that it would put 1984 to shame. The documentary showed that even young school children used children's versions of cell phones, which were used instead of cash and credit cards, just like their adult parents did. So, even a kid buying an apple for lunch at school was entered into the State's surveillance data base.
All of one's actions go into the data base too, so if one donates blood, one is rewarded with purchasing advantages, but if one is not a "good citizen," there are penalties.
Traveling the highways by car is also watched and recorded, so that wherever one goes on the sidewalk or the highway, one's social interactions, one's purchases -- everything is tracked. I would guess that health issues are also tracked. From the documentary, the people seem to be OK with all of this intrusion.
People worry about 1984, but it is already here.

Since it is for known criminals, why should it be a violation of the privacy. Anyway there are traffic and cctv cameras all around for the same purpose. But if the intent was only China bashing then it's a different thing.nikhilpunalur wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 4:08 pmthat is violation of privacy, china is an authoritarian state, they can do anything. if you really wants reforms i would suggest body cameras for officers.
Besides what good is a body cam if you can only look at it later and think that they missed a good opportunity. This is a great real time criminal catching opportunity.

body cam is not for crime detecting, its for auditing the police and their action. so they cannot frame someone or in case of an unlawful arrest. there is a thing called due process. you cannot or shall not simply arrest anyone. and its not a fail proof option too. in USA there were hundreds of cases where Ai cameras gave false positive and arrested non-criminals. not goodpgupta wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 8:17 amSince it is for known criminals, why should it be a violation of the privacy.
