Save your money and buy the Mark I, so long as it is functioning fine... no great improvements in Mark 4 to warrant almost double the price!

Iam a doctor from tamilnadu.... Recently got licence for revolver.... after 3 months of applying it.. Now getting a weapon is another headache due to lockdown..

In my own town i had a offer for mark 1 iof revolver... fired only 10 shots... for 60 k... But i van purchase a brand new iof mark 4 for 98 k in chennai from aavadi tank factory...

But lockdown is testing my patience...

kindly advice which one to go....
Hi drkmsenthil,
I have mark lll iof .32 revolver, it is as new as it was at the time of purchase. I never fired a single shot from it. Earlier I had mark1 and I had experience of jamming empty shell (once only) after fire. That was sold to one of my friend and he is Full satisfied with the performance of that.
But I know mark 3 and above are better. Although I want to sell this my mk3 and will buy ashani latest pistol. As one of our friend told that we can change revolver to pistol on same license. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=15160 - moderator

This revolver will hit the market by the last week of February or first week of March. In the first leg, the waiting period is 60 days, and they have received 100 or 200 bookings. This is what I understood.

Regards.

Hi All
Good news in today's news paper...
Don't get over excited friends. First, let it come in the market and then see its reviews and then decide accordingly. Remember it's made in India by Sial pvt. ltd. and not made in England by original Webley. Cost of this revolver is approximately double the cost iof revolver.

The photos I have seen of this made in India Webley revolver ,do not inspire a great deal of confidence.

Sounds like sound advice to me!

I agree.

Also as per my information, Sial pvt Ltd and Sheikh Arms haven't got NOC from Home Department for commercial sale yet. This information seems correct when we see that not a single handgun has been sold yet by both of these companies.

I spoke to a dealer in Maharashtra, Sangli about the upcoming Webley and I was told that the revolver is likely to be available by the end of July or early August. He has over 200 queries for the same and expects at least 100 genuine buyers. But likely price being quoted is 2.25 lac 😱 (inclusive of 28% G.S.T). He is not taking any token booking amount as yet.

It's beyond my understanding that why would someone pay this much for a WW2 relic design.

First time after 35 years, any other company other than IOF has been allowed to sell handguns in India. Webley India and Sheikh Arms (although quality is not good) will definitely get some advantage as they are fore runners in launching as compared to other companies.

In India private companies have been manufacturing sxs 12 bore guns from last fifty years but haven’t been able to produce world class quality. Same will be the fate of Indian made handguns until some world class companies like CZ, H&K, Glock, Sig Sauer launch their products.
