Re: Import gun parts from other countries?
This is a matter of great suspense . Can any forum member give us a clear legal standing on this issue.
1) If it is illegal to import gun spare parts, what is the way out for legally imported firearms which need spares like firing pin. spring , hammers etc.
2) Will NRAI or NAGRI find a easy and practical solution to this problem.?
3) Will NRAI start a gunsmithing course for producing accredited gunsmiths.?
4) Which is the right body / department to aproach for a solution to this issue legally.?
5) Will importing stock blanks and readymade gunstocks viewed as a voilation.?
6) Are the gunsmiths who are presently in the trade Certified by any body.?
7) How is many companies who quote astronomical prices for target weapons been able to import and under what laws.?
Other members please ad your querries also to this issue and let us make a good end to this issue so that many gunowners can benefit.

Nice question !
As far as my experience is considered none of the clerk or of the office will help you as they are not interested at all . Even don’t want to try it buy reading laws or anything including the DCPS also .

Gun parts are treated as arms as per Arms Rules 2016 and license on Form VII or Form X is required to import parts.Anksthakur wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 9:33 pmHello dear forum members, Can we import gun parts & accessories like firing pin, spring from other countries to India.
Wooden grips and leather holsters are different story.

All things related to arms are next to impossible in this country.
