Dear Friends, i am apply for my arms license in hyderabad under the sports category as an aspiring shooter in small bore. Am i requried to submit the S1 form-training certificate along with my application or can i skip this as there is no notification issued by the government. Thank you for your response & support!

I don't know whether it is mandatory. But, if you have it, stick it along. Cannot hurt your case. All the best.

I am now a 'renowned shot' in .22 50M Free Pistol. What I heard from many that the rules has changed for applying license under Sports Category.
Earlier, a person can own more than one weapon on one license and seems this rule has changed

Could someone from this group share a step-by-step about applying for a Arms license under Sports Category and also, what all weapon I can purchase under these license
Please note, I play from Karnataka and have completed my CRTC course
A detailed response one the above will be much appreciated!

Could someone please post an updated list of non prohibited bores in India? Also are we supposed to mention the calibre of the firearm (pistol in my case) when applying for licence (16b)?

All the restricted bores are mentioned in the new arms rules. Go to page 86 and 87 on this link for the list of
restricted bores. The rest are not restricted. When you apply, you apply either for an NPB or a PB license and the calibre will be entered upon the purchase of the firearm.

Changed how? AFAIK the new rules benefit sports shooters. The total you can own if you're a renowned shot in one event is 10 firearms (8 sporting firearms and 2 you're entitled to as a citizen). If you become a renowned shot in more than one event then the total goes up to 14 firearms (12 sporting weapons and 2 you're entitled to as a citizen).

Do you mean sports shooters now need to apply for a fresh license for every weapon they purchase? In which case, will they get a new license book every time they buy a new gun?

Alternatively, the people you spoke to maybe referring to import permits and not buying/possession limits. Indeed, you can only import one weapon at a time. So, if you became a renowned shot in 50-meter free pistol, you can import one pistol right now. If you want to get another, then you will need to qualify as a renowned shot again next year. However, you can still purchase more pistols as a renowned shot within India.
