Well it depends on the budget, in range of 1 lac, best bet is IOF, if you can cross 4lac, then you can scan around and might be lucky to lay hands on something good.

My license gets expired on September end May b I can take one extension .but mean time I found no other new manufacturers turned positive after the COVID attack in this situation I need a advise whether to go with an Iof pistol or pistol from sheik arms suggest and advise me the best

If possible try and get a used iof pistol, that way if you decide to upgrade later, you won't lose that much money when you sell it.

Best option is go for .22 revolver .
Than foreign manufacturers start selling on fast scale you can sell it and than go for imported one .

I am in the same boat. I am a new licencee. IOF handguns are horrible. i was shocked to see the so called firearm after owning a Glock in USA 10 years back. Prices of imports are prohibitive, don't know how long it will take for the new private manufacturers to come out. I called Webley they say revolver will be out in next two months, glock india i don't know. Sheikh arms said put down 25% and wait for 5 months, I have to go all the from Bangalore.

Brother , all people have different tastes and prefrences

if i had to be asked there are limited options

1. indian : iof and soe sheikh arms
2. imported : 90% wepons imported 30 years back

news of some foreign makes coming to india are coming .

if you prefer nostagic looks like 1911 then sheikh arms and webley will come up with some good option in coming year.

imported is insane price and rare.

better study hard and believe in luck , sometimes it strikes gold too

I have a iof pistol,will not advice to go for it.I think I will also go for a revolver sourabhsangale suggested.People think that it is outdated but it is the best for self defense and confidence.My view.

I don't know about your state but unless purchase permit is obtained,the license does not get expired here.
