I think the definition of shotgun in Russia varies from the rest of the world.
Just a loophole to beat whatever restrictions imposed by the bureaucrats. I believe in Russia one has to be shotgun licenced for 5 years before applying for a rifle licence. So this is the loophole to get a ‘M16 shotgun’
It has respectable ballistics. I wonder how it performs as a ‘slug’ gun at 100y? Any recorded game taken with it ?
Calling this a ‘shotgun’ is like calling a Lada an epitome of an European luxury car.
I think they even have a shot shell capsule load? Just the ticket for grouse in Scotland...

and info about 5 years shotgun license for rifle license
for sport no need 5 years
for professional hunters no need 5 years
buy rifle including semi auto AR-15 and AK-12 not big problem, if you have money not big problem
for home defence license - only shotgun - including this AR 15 J and TR-9 Paradox (1,5 week to sign form to buy this)
basic you may buy 5 shotgun as hunter ,5 rifle as hunter,1 shotgun for home defence, 2 less lethal pistol for carry,5 rifle for sport ,5 shotgun for sport
its 23 weapon per person with no special permit (like collection license) Bad gun laws?
