Sharing some pics of an old Brno 22, manufactured in 1969. Not bad for its age.
It has the original 1960's metal magazine that sits flush with the action.
Here is the link to some of my other Brno/CZ 22's that I posted earlier where you can see the magazine not sitting flush in the newer models.

Herb,
Lovely little rifle. Juxtaposed to the big thumper, the contrast brings out its lines well. Good to see you posting again.

Not bad for its age, Herb? Not bad for any age! Good taste is always welcome, including your attractive Brno! Thanks for sharing.

Not sure about the prices in India. These gun are not made anymore or imported into India so prices depend on availability and what the seller is asking. I am assuming you could get one for Rs. 75000.

Thanks Vikram. Very correct, the Brno 22's are sweet handling compared to the big bores. I have a BRNO 602/CZ 550 in .416 Rigby and the handling characteristics are very different, but that is expected by the very nature of what they are trying to accomplish.
Was caught up in a bunch of other things but glad to be back.

Hey Herb,
I too have a Brno Mod.2 built in 1972 and strangely Micro grooved which I realized after purchasing. Incidentally I also have Brno 602 (not CZ) in cal .375 H&H magnum with German Jena fixed power scope sitting on original Brno Manufactured rail mounts. This rifle also boasts of pop up receiver sight. Its a pleasure to show the pair off when ever the opportunity comes.
Cheers !!!

No way you could get these guns for anywhere near Rs. 75000/- in India nowadays. A Brno Mod 2 in pristine condition will easily cost you upwards of Rs. 4 Lakh in today's market.

Fellow Gun Nuts,
CZ too have brought an end to their famous CZ mode 550 rifles production in in March 2020. The worn tooling being one of the salient reasons and retooling the entire system was not profitable, the management concluded. Hence bye bye to Square Bridge Magnum size Mauser variant. Though I always preferred the original ZKKs. I guess they now come in collectors category and the actions are highly sought after for custom built rifles.

Unfortunately, that is true. I wrote to them when I heard of it and they confirmed. I am actually surprised that they chose to discontinue the 550 series.
I hope Zastava would step up their production to magnum-sized actions.

Brno 22 is a very sturdy and accurate gun. The demand for this old is is very high in our place. Unless one is very lucky, it very hard to get one. Even those who have it is not willing to part away. Some few years back one of the gun dealer was demanding Rs 5 lacs for the gun.

A fun fact. The IOF 22, which costs approx 80k now, is a copy of Brno Mod 2.
And about the price part, no imported Brno goes for less than 2.5 Lakhs in India. Winchesters, BSAs are abundantly available though for far less.
