Hi Mack The Knife,

If you click on the image, it will enlarge but I don't think there is mention of pellet weight if you are looking for that.

Thanks, Inder.

Anupam, are the H&N Field Target pellets plain jane domed pellets or do they have that exagerated driving band as pictured on the tin lid?

If it's just a plain domed pellet then that may most probably work well. Either way you will have to try all three to see what works best in the 77k.

[quote="Hunter";p="25461"]Hi Dev,

with regards to the Macarri stuff and the springer rated scope, can they be sourced through the internet? I have no other way of obtaining the same.

Air rifle head quarters is Maccari's outfit . I can't vouch for the scope but the lube should come in.

CPs most probably will not group from a '77k barrel but it's worth a try.

@Anupam
Looks like somebody likes the gun :D. SOrry forgot to pack the pellets mate. Yo should use the H&N FInale Match, thats what I used and they worked fine.

@Inder
Thank you for the kind words about my(er...ex) gun and how I maintain it.

Seeing it in someone elses hands is like seeing an ex girl friend with her new guy :(. Ooh we'll at least she'll be put to use and not just lie unused in the cupboard.

@Mack The Knife
Now I know how you felt about you LP10.

Hi all.

THe H & N Field target pellets are not just plain domed pellets. Below the dome there is a driving band. Weight is 8.2 grains.

It has a very straight flight and tremendous knock down power.

In the UAE I regularly take feral pigeons with it at about 35 to 40 yards with the Diana 68 ( Diana 35 power plant ). It kills instantly and the pellet exits with a wound channel of 4 to 5 times the size of entry hole. Most shots are taken upwards, which proves an even more accurate flight.

I guess this will work very well in the HW 77 which is a more powerful and superior rifle to my Diana 68.

8.2 grains is still light. I would not recommend anything lighter than 8.5 grains. Pellet fit is another important consideration as a loose fitting pellet will also result in excessive piston slam.

Since the only thing Anupam will be killing is paper targets, it makes no difference how well these work on pigeons. What concerns me is the amount of piston slam that is being produced when using a lighter weight pellet.

Anupam, I would not use H&N Finale Match (as suggested by Akshay) for this very reason. The result is broken main-springs and/or scorched piston washers.
