Does Moderator effects in accuracy, velocity in a PCP.
Hi friends I want to know what is the effects of fitting a silencer in a PCP gun. Whether it's velocity changes,or any change in its accuracy. Need Expert advice.

Velocity will not change, but there will usually be a variation in point of impact with moderator/without moderator, so you'll need to adjust the sights accordingly.
You may see some improvement in accuracy, but YMMV.
Cheers!
P.S. - No such thing as a SILENCER, it's called a MODERATOR.

Thank you. I observed the POI changes as u said, but I feel velocity is also decreased, may be one reason for this is because of the sound is suppressed.mundaire wrote:Velocity will not change, but there will usually be a variation in point of impact with moderator/without moderator, so you'll need to adjust the sights accordingly.

No way to be sure of velocity change without a proper chronograph to measure the same. Reducing sound has nothing to do with reducing velocity, moderators use a system of baffles to reduce sound, in exactly the same way a car/ motorcycle silencer works.
