This has been discussed in this forum various times. One individual is permitted to obtain 3 weapons. Some Licensing Authorities issue three weapons on one License Booklet while some issue different booklets for each weapon. You have to contact your local Licensing Authority for clarification.

Regarding the procedure,
Will the process be the same, the long one, or the application is approved instantly in case of add on?

Nothing in India is "instant", you will need to do all the formalities of applying for a fresh license in case of addition as well. Whether addition is granted or not depends entirely on the mindset and bias of the licensing authority.

Extract of Arms Act.pdf
See if this could be of any help . As far as I understand, you may possess three firearms on your licence and an additional 0.22 rifle/ air rifle if you are a member of a rifle club or association. Regards

After the notification of arms rules 2016,the practice of multiple licences has been discontinued ,all having multiple licences are required to obtain single license booklet for multiple fire arms.
Only exception being if one has a PB firearm, and other NP bore, then two booklets will have to be issued.one booklet for each category.
The procedure for another fire arm is the same as the one for issue of fresh arms license, only after the fire arm is sanctioned by the competent authority,it will be entered in the existing licence,if NP bore,if not then a fresh booklet will be issued,if PB bore license has been sanctioned.
