Re: CAN-ON : The Kolkata made AR
Incidentally i met with a dealer few months ago while choosing my air rifle. I have cocked and shot 2 can-on and several SDB models including the Artemis. The can-on 35 feels and shoots almost exactly like SDB 65/75. And even falls in the same price bracket. Hard cocking, unreasonably heavy and feels old school to use.
Now it has been rightly said that the SDB Artemis is a much more expensive rifle and should not be compared to these at all. But there's a point i definitely don't agree with. Though this is cheap, it isn't a good choice for starters. You won't really be able to enjoy the joy of shooting. Better to wait, save more and buy a little more expensive rifle.

Hi Sombit,
I won't completely disagree with you but would also add cocking effort is directly proportional to the spring power & the money being spent on the instrument.
The trigger & cocking of the 35 was also a hard one however once I had it sent to the factory it has come down to a comfortable level where cocking can be done with the tip of the finger.

Dear friends,
When I visited Great Eastern to buy pellets and spring I checked CAN ON along with SDB MAGNUMS.I think you people must know that this CAN ON is not that one which used to be superb in quality.Yes it is low priced so is the quality. It is better to save and invest in good one.
Thanks.
Shoot Less But Shoot Class.

Re: CAN-ON : The Kolkata made AR
Some time back i tried a brand which is not so popular. It is TOMMY side lever air rifle. After that my mind was clear and don't even thought of trying anything which is not popular.Curious people generally take our advice very lightly and buy those products, only to experience why we strongly advised to avoid them.If you are risk lover and happy with auto-fire you can get them. Stick with SDB,Precihole,AARMR to be in safe side. Here i haven't even mentioned IHP,UTA,AK purposely.

Hi VSRaja,
Thanks for sharing the concern, I value your opinion. Yes, I had read your post regarding the sidelever Tommy. Agree that was one of the bitter experiences you had shared post sharing your happiness over the same in the first post.
That post of yours has always kept me away from the particular brand.
However the AR in question has been with me now for more than 2 yrs. and has consumed more than 20 boxes of pellets (initially the thrist of shooting was too high) hence it can be safely assumed the issue of mild steel is not there with this particular brand.
Except the spring & washer everything is untouched.
Only after the consistent performance of the AR for 1 yr. I have opted for the 2nd AR from the same brand.
And next one to be procured is 95 that I have kept in mind.
Regards

Re: CAN-ON : The Kolkata made AR
You need atleast 5 shot group to test accuracy of the gun. 10 shot group is better.
