If it is not cordite, then it is .500BPE/ blackpowder express. Nitro express refers to cordite loads. The rifle should clearly bear the markings. Do check. I doubt if there are any BPE loads left in the country though one can never be sure.

500NE is still one of the most powerful Rifle available. Though the usage are limited now as hunting is banned long Ago. but I think the weapon itself deserves some respect. Fun Shooting with a high power Rifle in any way is not advisable. these are weapons made with a special purpose though with time the usefulness of the Gun may reduce but not its power.
