Its a lever action rifle. probably 32/40, 32/20 or if in luck then 30/30. It could be made by Winchester or Henry or something. not a very practical fire arm to buy as ammo is not easily available here in India......IMHO.

Re: which gun is this???
Not a .32-20, that's a much smaller cartridge. A Winchester M1894. So it could be .25-35, .30-30, .32-40, .32 Winchester Special, or .38-55. But since the cartridges are bottle-necked and the bullet is too large for the .25-35, a .30-30 or .32 Special. Not a Henry, they didn't start up until after your import ban. Plus, their's is a near Marlin clone.

I walk as if I rule the world or else i walk as if I don't give a damn who the heck rules the world and remember there is a hairline differences between a foolhardy and bravery.

With the IOF .30-06 selling for a lac, doubt anyone would pay ₹ 2 lacs for this old clunker.

Re: which gun is this???
Its very difficult to confirm about the caliber from the photo as it close to .30-30 WCF but to me the case are appearing much longer and more trimmed than actual 30-30WCF ammo.
I had a Model 94 in 30-30 WCF and used to bought ammo for INR 250 for 170 grain Winchester in Kolkata in the year 2001 . They are hard to fine and not available always. We sold our mod 94 in the year 2004 along with 9 round fresh ammo for only 35K to a Kolkata gun dealer. (The rifle was in pretty much great shape , approx. 85% of rifling , new bluing and very well maintained , with negligible pressure mark and no scratch in stock )
Hope this will give you an idea .
