Making cost effective spring compressor for Air gun
Hi Friends,
Have made this, perfectly fine working spring compressor for Air rifle. I have a Precihole SX100 Springer, so the length of device has been adopted for same as the length of piston tube. It took me one day and few bucks to build this "Jugaad". The costliest component is the heavy duty "C" Clamp I brought form tool market.
Its always better to have such one at your home rather than to rush for gun smith every time you want to do some tuning/ lubrication and replacement of parts in your gun.
I wish to change my Precihole SX from Spring power to Nitro piston. Very soon will upload the pics of complete disassembly of my SX100.

Let me know how the end wooden block holds up on the plywood once done...
I tried a jugaad with a car jack once but didn't work so well...

Nitroex700,
I used the car jack effectively with two bricks held between wooden door frame.
I took the help of my driver as well.

Sir I tried the same jugaad.. but not only did it break the plaster but the tube also jumped out on applying pressure... Never tried it again after that!

It looks like the length is equal to the length of the receiver ,which is not sufficient, if the gun has some heavy preload. Also the 'u' clamp looks too small and the screws holding were very small.Keep in mind that sometimes the pressure of preload will be huge, hence you need a better screw size for the u-clamp for safe handling the job.Other things looks solid.

The base of this device is Teak wood, not any plyboard. And the end wood is solid piece of Rose wood bolted at three points. Am having no probs using it and its working smooth.

As said I have a SX100 Pegasus, build this juggad keeping in view of my specific needs. The length is kept just to match the receivers length, same goes with 'U" clamps ...it perfectly holds the receiver well tight. The 'C" clamp I brought was the most heavy duty available in market which cost me extra bucks, getting a drill into that was also a tricky task as most of the iron work vendors didn't have the special Bits to drill into a cast iron, it took me lot of effort to find someone who can make drill into that. You can make your own specific to your length and needs.
Cheers!!

Dear Oreku.
You should patent the spring compresser device. I also ordered a C -clamp to built a similar one. So do fact to protect your design.
