Hello what's the best barrel length for skeet and trap guns ? Please do guide me

As I am getting my gun lisence soon so I wanted to take some advice about barrel length for skeet and trap guns

Skeet guns tend to have shorter barrels at 26"-28". Trap usually 30"-32". It is not just the barrel length. Trap stocks are designed to shoot at rising targets. Skeet guns mostly shoot flat. Trap chokes are usually tighter @ 3/4 and full where as skeet chokes are more open.

Unless you are a recreational shooter, skeet and trap guns are specialised guns in specific disciplines.

I have no idea about that brand. Could be used as a beginner gun, I suppose.Once you get a hang of the sport and still decide to continue, you can always upgrade. All the best with your efforts.

You can definately give it a shot, if the trigger is smooth enough, try in dry practice first if you are to get your movement and trigger pull right

So long as you have a reliable single trigger gun that fits you well - with OPEN CHOKES (even no chokes, i.e. cylinder will do), you can potentially use it to shoot Skeet. Does not even need to be an O/U it can be an SxS (though that may affect your scores a bit). As Vikram has mentioned, Skeet guns usually tend to have shorter barrels.

However, you would be no doubt be handicapped as compared to those who are using purpose built Skeet guns. I think the consideration would typically be, "can I use this to hit the MQS score and import a dedicated Skeet gun?".

The answer is - YES (only holds for single trigger open choke guns)! With the qualification that you would be somewhat disadvantaged and would therefore need to train that much more to compensate.

The above does not usually hold true for trap though. For trap you really do need a dedicated trap gun as they shoot very different from usual shotguns.
