GenNex- Excellent Choice for New Shooters
On Sunday I visited the SDB factory with another Ifgian , called (.22 cal).
There were some six new GenNex lying and picked all to test fire them.
Finally I bagged one , for which I was long awaiting.
Let me speak about GenNex in detail :
Weight – 2608 gms ( My main reason)
Length – 38”
Cocking effort 7-8 kgs
Trigger – Double pull single stage, weight adjustable
Trigger Blade – Golden
Scope Groove – 10-11 mm. With three stop holes
Sound- A tad louder than n25
Balance- Very evenly spread on front and back
Stock – Wooden with checkering on pistol grip and either sides.
Length of pull- 0.5 “ shorter than other guns
Velocity – 625-648 with mastershot FH 7.7 gns
623-635 with Unitedshot FH 7.7 gns
Recoil – almost nil or negligible
Sights- All metal , front globe , real elevation windage adjustable
Butt pad – soft Rubber
We both fired almost all Guns and I was surprised to see the power of a gun went upto 691 FPS with Geco pellets.
I was just not keen to go for power but purely for smoothness. These guns are all pretuned in the company so it was a straight shooter from the very first shot.
I think , GenNex is going to be the most loved AR among ladies and young shooters.
The craftsmanship is superb and can outbeat any springer in this segment.
Having come back home in the evening I tried a few shots and adjusted the trigger. But could not make out in the darkness what was happening.
Next day in the morning with every freshness ,tried at 40 yds.....my GenNex was listening to me and whispered back that she will be on song soon.

You got another one Basuda !! I am unable to decide between apache se and gennex. A 38" gun with 7 fpe at muzzle and deadly accuracy tips the scale in its favour. Whats the cost Basuda?
I have a question regarding ARs in general, whats the difference between two stage trigger and double pull single stage trigger?

sam47.....wise thinking .....if you have a power packed gun already with you...then you can always go for a softer option .
My Sport delivers close to 13 fpe and that is sufficient for me till 50 yds....
I definitely recall shooting pleasure of my N25 for hours.....effortless.
GenNex , as on date does not have noticeable recoil ,with the time it will further mellow down and will be boringly accurate.
I will share my feeling with you after few hundred shots...

Congrats Basuda for your new darling, i wonder what your misus reaction mite be. nonetheless a good looking rifle. What i liked most about this gun is its trigger position, the laid back trigger is beneficial for shooters with smaller hands & the trigger blade is broad aswell. curves on the beauty looks delicious, i wonder if there will be left hand version available.
I am sure with your touch she is going to be even more pleasurable

Re: GenNex- Excellent Choice for New Shooters
ISSF standard target paper was not available on the shooting site. So I did some plinking, not serious target shooting. So I should not comment on the accuracy of GenNex. Now Basuji owns a GenNex, he should test it on a standard target paper and post the results here.
But from my plinking experience I can tell you that the rifle is very accurate and smooth.
The other things I noticed in SDB GenNex are - GSmith and H&N pellets were little tight fit but Mastershot, Unitedshot and Geko fits nicely.

Re: GenNex- Excellent Choice for New Shooters
Wow! The new trigger looks really amazing !! I am planning to get a a new trigger while I get the replacement seals for my Artemis. I think I too will get the GenNex, but will have to wait till July for it. I am sure I will be forgiven for buying just 1 more small gun.
.22 cal sir, no need for ISSF paper, shoot on plane cardboard ,it gives very accurate idea about accuracy. If a 14 fpe gun from SDB can put 5 pellets almost one over another at 10 m, I am quite sure the 7 fpe one will be accurate enough to pick out a fly at 10 m.

Basuda, is the trigger positioned in that position after adjustment or does it come from the factory that way ?

@ sam 47- This is the state or position of the trigger after adjusting the pull.
Factory setting comes with a tad forward position of the trigger..
After setting position is the ideal one , as mentioned by Moulindu.
@Milind- In case you want to have SDBs , you can always get it couriered from Great Eastern Firearm Co.Sanjit Biswas 09831189107.

Re: GenNex- Excellent Choice for New Shooters
I have made a cover of GenNex exactly like cricket bat cover.
Believe me when I am carrying GenNex in this cover on the street, it is giving impression of cricket bat only , no suspicion , nothing.
Carrying this gun anywhere , is no more any issue.
Size 6" x 39"
