Olympic shooting schedule

Hi brothers
I was going though the shooting schedule of Rio Olympics 2016 & got some misleading(if i might say) information
"India has really developed a love for airguns (2rd largest amount of Airguns are sold in India according to some reports second only to the US) and they have developed the infrastructure to really encourage youth shooting programs as well as highly touting their shooting athletes."
I have no doubt about the first part, but second part where i am sceptical.
