Is this a pcp pistol? (sold by NRAI)

Post by Praneel » Fri May 06, 2016 9:50 pm

NRAI has listed ".177 Air pistol Domino" for the price of Rs.29855.00 on their website . Can anyone please identify this gun and post a picture here. Is this a compressed air pistol (PCP type) ? Is this any good for practise ?
Thanks

here is the link to the listing. http://www.thenrai.in/PDF/95d88a30-8c81 ... fc3faa.pdf

I did google it and found different models made by FAS (related to Domino). AP6004, AP604 and AP606 are single stroke pneumatic variants. AP609 is a compressed air variant. Some models are discontinued but are still available for sale in some italian and US websites. I couldn't find out which model is sold by NRAI and if anyone has any experience shooting it. Is there any way to ask NRAI for the details.
Thanks

It's likely to be the FAS. I too have my sights on it but just can't seem to get information on it from the NRAI.

Hi,

Praneel and others, the pistol is Domino FAS 6004. its is nitro piston and not a pcp type. Though it say 600 fps in the manual but it could be of 400 fps and does not have the punch of Styer or Morini. It can be used for practice purpose. check out the link for pictures.

Are you sure it is a Nitro piston? It looks to me like a single stroke pneumatic which probably cocks on closure (like the Gamo Compact/ HW40/ etc).

Cheers!

Hi bros I have been to NRAI to buy for our Association and took some photos. I don't think it is for serious target shooters. May be of help at the beginner level

@pvasanth @Ravindrane Thanks for the clarification. You saved us a lot of time.
@Ravindrane Thanks for the photos. You posted them just in time.

I've read that FAS 6004 has a good reputation. We are thinking about buying some of these for our association and recommending them to members who cannot afford more expensive brands.
The assumption is that, properly built single stroke pneumatics can deliver consistent shot pressure and are inexpensive to maintain.
I request anyone here to kindly share your experience with FAS 6004 in India. It would be a great help for us.
Accuracy of shots - consistent or shifting
Trigger pull - is it smooth, is it adjustable;
Cocking effort - moderate or hard for a youth;
Availability of spares and service- washers & o-rings readily available in the market;

Thanks and Regards
