SDB 2000 Air rifle - my new purcahse

Basu Sir,

How do you rate/compare Apache against 2000? I am leaning towards Apache, what do you suggest?

And if possible please guide me to a good tuner in Kolkata. I want to get the gun fine tuned before I bring it back to Arunachal. Though I would have loved to tweak it for around 16 fpe, but fine tuning would also do for now! So please help.

As you might well know an airgun's power is directly proportional to its swept area, among other things.. So unless one does something really drastic to increase the swept area, I doubt a 10fpe gun would suddenly jump to 18fpe, no matter what material one uses for guides or how well one 'seals' it..! Even if one does something like that, chances are one will end up with a very 'jarring' gun... If 'affordable' brute power is what you seek, a .22 bruno is your best friend!

18 fpe is just a wishful thinking. Is it too much to aspire for around 15-16 fpe also? I dont want to sacrifice accuracy for velocity. Accuracy & smoothness tops priority. Consistent 12 fpe is not bad at all, but just that a little more power would never hurt anyone.

I am waiting for the day when I finally lay my hands on .22 Brno.

Dear jksunwar,
Apache for sure , generates more power than SDB 2000.
It goes upto 13 fpe with 10.6 gr light RH pellets.
I think if at 12 fpe , a gun can maintain accuracy , that is superlative.
You may increase the energy by 0.5 to 1 fpe , using harder spring but that would be a tough bargain between power n accuracy.
Not only 0.22 Brno , even IOF 0.22 lr is equally pleasing to shoot. I fire both at range.
