Is 9.3x62 (366) and obsolete bore now ?
Hi
Today I went to buy cartridges for my fn browning 366 and my uncles Holland n Holland 375 magnum . Unfortunately one of the gun house owners said 366 is an obsolete bore now and 375 will be obsolete soon world over.
But then I called one more gun house guy who is an acquaintance he said he can get me around 100 cartridges for 366 and 375 both.
Just wanted to confirm with everyone if what the first gun house owner is saying is true , is the 366 and obsolete bore now world over ?
Thank you

9.3X62 is still one of the most widely used medium big bore cartridges in Africa and Europe. In Europe, it is considered as THE boar medicine. You will find most ammunition makers offering this calibre and many rifles still being made.
Ask that man what he would offer for your 9.3. Then a week later send someone looking to buy one. See the price quoted.
And the .375H&H will certainly outlive that dealer and most likely his grandchildren too.

I have similar story a 375 Holland and Holland belonging to an old distinguished family of my area in Punjab was up for sale. Family friend was offered pick of the litter, in mean time a gun dealer got involved and he convinced all or planted a seed of doubt that its an archaic antique bore. I tried very hard to convince but it was all in vain; the dealer probably made a bundle later on..

Thanks everyone I have also found dealers in Lucknow who rubbished this and are ready with Norma cartridges for 366... I guess this gun house business is full of cons and frauds these days

Sir that reminds me after the conversation I had with that gun house owner he is telling me that he is a buyer of all obsolete guns and rifles , now I know what his true intentions were .Vikram wrote:

Over here in Europe it's not obsolete by any means. That the 375 h h would be dying is ridiculous, but I do think the 375 ruger might be here to stay, as it fits in a 300 win mag length action, which is pretty much standard for sporting rifles.
