New Toy
Got a chance to take a recently acquired toy out to the range today. Best grouping at 200 yards is below. Not bad for a gun right out of the box, (relatively) cheap scope, and factory ammo.
Will get pics of said toy posted once I get around to unpacking the car.

Re: New Toy
Awesome toy my friend. That ruger precision rifle is a great bang for the buck if you can find it. They are like horn of a unicorn. Is that in 308 or 6.5 ?

Re: New Toy
6.5. My local (very high volume) store was actually able to get one within a week of me placing an order at a very good price (several hundred less than gunbroker). In fact, it came so quickly I didn't have any ammo the day it arrived, and I'm still waiting on a new scope.

Re: New Toy
The rifle is very comfortable to shoot, especially with all the adjustment you can make on the stock.

Re: New Toy
6.5 is a great choice in all respects. Hope you have a great time with it. Ammo can be a bit on the pricy side unless you reload. Then you can customize the load according to application.

Re: New Toy
Can competition shooters import this rifle? If yes what would be the price in India?

Re: New Toy
Even if by miracle, someone is able to import it they would be very limited with the caliber. This comes in only 3 caliber (308[7.62x51], 6.5 Creedmoor & 243 winchester)
308[7.62x51] to my understanding is a prohibited bore unless the NATO 7.62x51 and civilian 308 are considered different rounds by the law. Experts please correct me if I am wrong.
6.5 is a wildcat and good luck finding it. It is expensive in US to start with so I'm not even going to speculate how much will it cost in India.
243 is not a wildcat and has been around longer but is again next to impossible to find in India.
Now if Ruger introduces this in 30-06, that might open up doors.
6.5 Creedmoor is not a wildcat, but a standardized cartridge. Fairly new and hence not widely distributed. MOD

Re: New Toy
The 6.5 Creedmoor is not a wildcat. Ammunition is manufactured by Hornady, Winchester, and Federal. I'm sure finding it in India would be a challenge though.
