Is it pick of the litter when COD issues rifles meaning you get to check and select the gun or its whatever COD chooses for you ? Krico is a beautiful rifle too not sure why COD has such a collection f 22 rifles and why and how were they hoarding these? Unless these were bought for NCC meaning they could potentially need decent TLC / checking by a gun smith...good luck

First of all,these are all confiscated and captured weapons. So,that explains the big names. Secondly, most of these guns are either barely or rarely used. So good shape of parts n mechanism,including beautiful barrels. Yes,lot of work required in blueing and stock.

Gentlmen at last today i have been able to endorses my .22 rifle on my existing licence. After 5 months of running pillar to post, numerous rejections and counter replying to those rejections .22 rifle Brno is here. Now next step is to get AIV !!!! Before that need to collect it from COD jabalpur..... Any advice/ tips for the same ???

To start with,congrats. Please check the allotment letter very carefully and carry all mentioned documents. Secondly,speak to Jabalpur about your alloted weapon and tie up your arrival with their availability. Then , dont forget to carry a good carry case for the rifle. Lastly,you have option of leaving your rifle at COD after collection for minor touch ups and blueing. Well,thats my two bits.

Why do you need a license? I thought we did not need one till we are serving. I dont have one!!!

Hi all,
Just to clear the doubt about the NSP arm.
A serving Service officer can hold one sidearm without a license, only till the time he is serving.
The relevant army order and arms act, when read in conjunction ,will clear your doubts as what is allowed is a sidearm, ie, Pistol/revolver and not gun/rifle.
For possesing a gun/rifle,even NSP issue, even while serving, you require a license. And its all fact.
Further,for a NSP issue sidearm too,you require a valid license after retirement.
