power and effective range of ihp35 vs other Indian air rifles

Post by Rajkannan » Sun Nov 15, 2015 7:14 pm

Hi

This is Rajkannan, a newbie to AR.. Confused after reading lots of posts in IFG I am opening this new thread
I m planning to buy a new AR For plinking.. I have the following doubts...

What is the power and effective range of IHP 35 .22 and. 177?
What is the maximum their power can be increased by tuning?
Compare its power and range with precihole, sdb and isw.
Which Indian AR has maximum power and effective range (both for. 22 and. 177)?

Is there anybody kind enough to help me?

Rajkannan, we have a section dedicated to introductions, normally newbie's are expected to introduce themselves to the other members of the forum. Precihole airguns are considered to be among the better ones in India.

Rajkannan: I believe Indian law specifies that air guns have to pass a penetration test to be freely sold, i.e. penetration in wood must be limited, they may not penetrate a wood slat of certain thickness.
As to "effective range", that's a military term, based on the ability of the standard ball round to penetrate completely through the most likely adversary's steel helmet, and a host of other factors specific to the particular military. There is no "effective range" in a sporting or hunting context. At the very least you would have to specify your shooting ability, sighting equipment, and intended purpose before one could make a guess at your concept of "effective range".

You can post a brief introduction over here https://www.indiansforguns.com/viewforum.php?f=24
If you go through the Air guns section you can find most of your answers here.

Dear tworivers,

Thank u for ur kind reply...

I have zero experience in shooting. I m going to buy a new AR. Thatsy I asked all these details.. I m going to use the rifle for plinking and pest control.. I mean effective range as accuracy of the rifle upto which distance it can hit the targe perfectly and without losing the power.

Minimum I need a comparison between ihp. 22 and precihole. 22.. FYI I have read lot of threads in this forum but they r confusing... Kindly help...

Thank u bro.. @ aadhaulya

I will share my experience with Precihole..
It's really good overall.. Plus the effective range for plinking I would say around 30-35meters easily.
Maximum Range is over 50Meters.. It's really good. Tried it on a palm tree one which is over 50-60 away from where I shot from, went through the leaf clean.. Not sure if it was a practical test.. But, loved it :)

Cheers :)
