Jonah,

If past experience with M&M is anything to go by, the buggers will end up putting in an underpowered engine and piss poor electrics! :P One can always hope they get it right though... if they do I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one... ;)

Cheers!

Gather the entire vehicle was developed in Israel and offered to India by a private builder (Ido Cohen) that has a wide experience in developing rock crawlers.

Read the wiki saga about the Axe... the first para seems to be a jumble of self contradiction... while overstating the indigenous aspect.... the last two lines : "The Mahindra Axe has been developed by a team consisting of Indian and international designers. Some components of the Axe are being imported too" seem to go in a different tangent.

Thanks sat for the confirmation and the nice pics.

No complaints about the effort though. I only hope the civilian version will be more affordable. Then I wont mind owning one :)

Sat,

Thanks for that link. I particularly like those Gypsys in Desert Raider garb.

Do you think the cops would object if I mounted an airgun on mine?

Very very bad memories but we used to do that during the riots in 1990 this bloody SHila Nyas and Babri Masjid time.

A citizens Aman comitee had been formed and along with a few policemen we used to Patrol in an open Jeep all night shining a spotlight in alll the bylanes, discouraging miscreants and keeping at bay the troublemakers from all communities.

Inder seems to have undergone a complete transformation. The mother of all makeovers

Autocar India's current issue has a review of the Mahindra Axe.The interiors are something that I might have designed.Lots of scope for someone like Mack The Knife to show his creativity.
