An author in our midst, I see. I really enjoyed reading about your trip. Also, I always liked the Webley top opening chamber, it just throws the empties all out and no crap with reloading. I really wish a modern revolver would be built using that principle. But, since it really doesn't lend to strength, probably not as all the modern revolvers seem to be big game shooters. A .500 S&W built like that would look like an anvil.
Better yet, a modern LeMat in 16 ga/32Mag.

Your story was a delight to read . I am sitting my course to get one so need your advice on the gun. How has it been so far ?...any malfunctions or defect that you came across and of course what's the range and accuracy (if u tested) ?

A good gun-smith should be able to work on it and improve the trigger pull.

Re: Procuring the SAF revolver and MARK IV secret revealed!!
A very delayed response but I'll note it down anyway.
@Gunandrose - the revolver is typical of any IOF product. It goes bang every time i squeeze the trigger but the overall product leaves a lot to be desired. The trigger is unusually hard to pull (even in single action), the lead spews out to the sides from the gap between the barrel and cylinder, a the cylinder opened up on a few occasions after the shot was fired.... you get the picture I'm sure!. I took it to a gunsmith in Aligarh but no improvement.
@Sourabhsangale - I paid Rs. 350 for the stamp paper and fees if i remember correctly. My application was rejected so I appealed in the Lt. Governor's office (would be HC in other states I think) since the LG is the appellate authority. I put together my case and represented myself instead of hiring a lawyer so there was no further cost apart from a few stamp papers I had bought. Other than that, can't recall any other significant cost. It was a long drawn out process and quite frustrating as you can imagine. It's documented here on the forum in a few threads.
