Gamo shock absorbing scope buffer
To begin with, I am not so sure how long this one is around, but I bought it recently - Gamo shock absorbing scope buffer. I was on the look out for a good mount for my recently acquired Diana 350 magnum and came across this accessory which enticed me to purchase it. Got it a few days back, mounted immediately. The performance and effectiveness are yet to be seen.

Re: Gamo shock absorbing scope buffer
ibalajis,
This seems to be a neat equipment. Hope it works well.
In your second pic I see the partial marking on the scope -12 X 40. My question is that have you tried the rifle with the scope setting of 12 magnification? I have fount that any magnification beyond 9 or 10 at the max. is difficult to hold steady by hand and you need a bi-pod to hold it in position.
But then maybe I am getting to become an old man now, so probably my hands are not steady enough.
Regards
Atul

Atul ji, no I have not tried more than 6X so far. As you have mentioned, holding might get tricky with increasing magnification.

At higher magnification every thing is magnified, including shake of your hands. it is perfect normal, unless you have hands of steelaadhaulya wrote:ibalajis,

Re: Gamo shock absorbing scope buffer
I noticed this scope buffer online recently too. It would be great if ibalajis could post an update on how it has held up over time...
To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his Gods.

It didn't hold up against my mighty 350 beyond some 50 shots

Re: Gamo shock absorbing scope buffer
Ideally the scope rail shouldn't move, so if it is moving and impacting the scope buffer then it has not been mounted securely.
Alternatively a scope stop block or pin in the mount works better to stop scope Creep.
