DKSSR NOT RENEWING MEMBERSHIP OF NEW MEMBERS

Today I went to Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range, Delhi to get my membership renewed for this year. They refused to accept the application form as according to them the range is under renovation for the shooting event being held there in Sept 2015. Besides, some new members had damaged the scoring system on range.
They have asked me to call them in July about renewal.
But the range is open for old members and regular shooters.

Hi guys, I am a new member of this group,Thanks Admin.

Same thing i faced,when i approached there last week for target practice on my Arminius 0.32 Revolver,The guards were not even allowing to enter DKSSR.
Anyhow i managed and met Mr.Bakshi(Director),a thorough gentle person(national level Shooter) felt really sorry for this and asked to give him a call in July 2015 for new membership.
Even though he had made a proposal for using personal weapons @ range for target practices, how successful he will be, GOD knows!!!
If any thing comes,plz share..

Thankfully my membership was renewed early April.

However, when I wanted to put in an application to use Range Weapons and Scope etc, I was informed by Mr. Suri there that this is on hold. He did not have any written orders to this effect and as per him it is on the verbal orders of Mr. Bakshi.

I think it makes sense to ask for this in writing.

Also, I have put an RTI on DKSSR last year asking specific questions w.r.t. range usage, members guidelines, rules etc, and they did not have anything of this sort. So in my opinion there is NO restriction on usage of weapons of the proper calibre at the range, whether personal or sport or whatever.

I suggest you and atul put this stuff in writing and get answers. No need to take this without proper explanations.

Yeah jointly we can put up the case and many of my friends r on the same platform.Do you have any idea of the person beyond Mr.Bakshi ,who can help ??

There seems to be some issue as I spoke to him in the morning after your call. He was busy on another call and asked me to call him back after 10 minutes. After that he did not pick up any of my calls. Today I was busy in court, but tomorrow I am going to get after him. Or if it still doesn't work I may even go to his office.

I went and met the Range Administrator Mr. Bakshi. Had a long discussion but didn't get the membership. The reason that was cited is that the rates are going to increase and the membership will be given out once that happens. It will take a week.

I'll follow up in a week's time and then decide the next course.
