@rahul,
Agreed bigger is better, but i kinda like the smaller knife too. The profile makes it ideal for delicate cutting/carving. Plus that's all i need for all purposes inside the house. The bigger knives are more of an ego ride :P
I need to source some leather and get a few sheaths made. Pointers?

Awesome DIY Kshitij :cheering:
Like the profile & contours of your blades :D
A few pointers...........
1. Instead of using screws on the handles - use brass rivets.
2. Wood handles would have given some character to your knives...
3. Try 'Micarta' for handles....check with IFGian Pratik Mahale' (Mumbai CMG) ...he has had great success with them
4. Buff the blades for that final gleaming finish!!!!

Awesome, Bro!!! Get into the market now. Hot cakes will cover their faces in shame ;)

Moin told me of a source near Ghatkopar station for leather, but I haven't been able to check it out. Let me know if you plan to come sometime. Otherwise there's that guy in Santacruz.
Cheers!

@brihaji,
I would love to use wood and micarta handles with brass rivets but unfortunately i am a little short on time (and possibly skill) right now. Have used screws because if there ever is rust formation, i can just take the thing apart and give the blade a nice scrub down. The teflon scales are counter sunk on one side with the thread tapped into the other so the screws sit in flush and noting sticks out in contact with the hand. Buffing is a 2 min job but i personally dont like shiny blades, prefer the raw unfinished look to steel :)

@essdee, hahaha...
Coming to think of it, i could probably produce like 10000 blades of all shapes and sizes in a month but dont think I want to get into that right now, have my hands full for the time being :D
What we can do is, if pratik can make a few sets of micarta handles and you can make some nice leather sheaths, at least the bunch of us can have some really cool knives. I have multiple kinds of steel and we could get any blade profile made.

@ckkalyan, Thank you :)

For now I am only doing what I can easily get done. The profiles i have under process:
CAD-Model.pdf
The red ones are the handle scale profiles and the black lines are the blade profiles. Lets see how they turn out. Looking for a more durable surface finish as the patina does not prevent rust formation on these carbon steels. May go in for some kind of electro plating in black color. Once i have all the utility part figured out, will focus on the aesthetics :D

Wow!
By looking at them I could visualize the end products :D
In the language of the 'blacksmiths' - You have gone "Hammer & Tongs" :lol:
Pratik - Start the Micarta Mix :D
SD - Out with the AWL & Sooi/Daga + the leather hunt :D
ME - Oiling the wheels of my handcart :lol:
