Best Indian Air Rifle available for sale

Post by sumit.technocrat » Thu Jun 26, 2014 5:41 pm

Dear Friends,

I have always been a big fan of break barrel Air rifles. Yesterday I went to Pitamber Sharma Gun House in Noida. They have a nice collection of Air guns, I saw some Indian brands there like ESA, Commando, He Man, Precihole, Supreme, GD Sports etc.

They also have one made in Germany under lever air gun, which they have sourced in from some army personnel.

Precihole is one good option but could you please suggest which is the best among the above names. However I also like the ESA350, it seems to be very powerfull air gun at good price, but not sure about the brand.

Please suggest.

ESA stands for Express Small Arms Corporation of Kolkata.
They have been making ARs for quite some times.
Basically products are mostly clones of old Diana Models.
Performance of these guns improve with proper tuning.

Dear sumit,
I can only suggest truely if I have tested the same gun.
The guns I fired of the same category are Cannon 35/65,Daws 35/65,Tommy 65,SDB 45/2000 and National 25.
All the above guns are very accurate with good power yet subjected to proper tuning.
ESA is an old brand of Kolkata , hope you can find that handy too.

Someone claimed it clocks 800fps! Is that true? Did anyone chrony it?

800 fps is possible in .177, unlikely in 0.22 in Indian models.

No Indian AR is capable of reaching 800 fps in 0.22.
It is only possible with dieseling or detonation.

Basu
Note :My fps data from chronoconnect only and not with authentic chrony.

I have most of the Indian Air models in .177 and .22....not one of the .177 goes beyond 500 fps...
Wonder if I got all the wrong ones. I have IHP, CANNON, AIMCO. I tried dieseling, it created loads of fumes but not much of change in fps. My readings too on chronoconnect. Heard it shows way lot more than a proper chrony. My 500 fps was shown n aimco....IHP and others show way lot less. Infact most Indian stuff are toys. You should see my Weirauch...it crosses fire arm standards!

Dear Sumanngon,
I am surprised to see results in CC.
CC did not work at all in Samsung Galaxy but when I shifted to Sansung Tab 2 with headset , results were far more reliable.
To make it double sure , checked the sound sample in audacity and readings were very close.
Indian 0.177s reach 750 fps after proper tuning are many members have said that.
0.22 can deliver 570-580 out of the box...surely not all and with proper tuning it may cross 600 mark.

I am sure you mean this as a joke. If it crosses firearm standards it is illegal in India unless you have a firearm licence.

Guys!
This topic has been endlessly discussed in this forum :D
However for sheer accuracy & shooting pleasure - 750 fps in 0.177 & 600 fps in 0.22 are are ideal :D
Lastly please do not attempt to "Diesel" your AR....
1. It's dangerous
2. It can ruin your AR
Briha
PS: Most Indian made ARs need tuning to enhance their performance....meaning to improve accuracy & smoothness while shooting!!!
IMHO - Precihole ARs are an exception....

Briha is absolutely correct......
It is only Precihole , that comes factory tuned.
Rest all are subjected to tuning for better performance.
After tuning , as Briha said , there is a chance for higher velocity but smoothness and accuracy improvement for sure.
