Balisong Knife in Delhi
I'm a new member here, thank you moderators for approving my membership.
I looked through a few posts about Balisong knives in other places like Mumbai but couldn't find an existing post about their availability in Delhi. If there is already a post, my apologies for making a similar post again but I would greatly appreciate guidance about what to look for in a Balisong knife while buying one and where in Delhi I could get one for a reasonable price.
The eBay listings I have found so far are either of blunt mock knives or upwards of 2000 rupees. I was wondering what should be a fair price to pay for it and also if I can buy a sharpened one directly. If sharpened ones are not available, can blunt ones be sharpened by oneself.
Thanks in advance

Balisong knives popularly known as butterfly knives are the best utility tool which are generally used as collectibles and for self defence as well in everyday carry to outdoors.

Re: Balisong Knife in Delhi
Quality balisongs are not available on any Indian website...
You may try to get a Benchmade from knifecentre but that will cost you more than INR.15,000/- (no typo error here).
i have checked few other online seller sites but I'm not sure of the quality.
If you check with some gunsmiths in Delhi and find out if anyone can get you one.
Cost can be anything between 200/- to 2,000/- for local makes (read "china ka maal")
P.S. I doubt if there is any legal angle to selling and owning this knife but somehow have found that most online sellers in India steer clear of Balisongs

Here is a mention of these knives in Delhi http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... 2&start=15
Legality of the Balisong in various countries (except India) is mentioned here: http://www.butterflyknifebutterflyknife ... tatus.htmlOlly wrote:For the Delhi Darlings....
There is a Cold Steel Balisong available at a South Delhi Mall... can't vouch for the authenticity but does deserve a dekko...
He's asking for 6K... the blade is about 4-5 inches and looks robust...
I couldn't enquire more, other than glance at it and ask the price, due to the 'Valentine's Pressure' on my arm and a strong rebuke...

Guys, those thinking of owning a balisong should ideally first get the trainer. A China made trainer will do the job fine. Flipping requires great skill and you don't want to risk fingers! Save up in the meanwhile and get a quality balisong, not China made cheap stuff - they wear out quickly, since the flipping action puts a great deal of stress on the joints and they go out of tolerance very quick. Quiet a few reasonably priced balis are available of good quality (Bear and sons, for eg.).
Second, and more important, don't think about self defense - it takes even greater skill to actually use a bali for sd. Best self defense is to be smart not to get into trouble in the first place, and if it still does happen, be able to run away as quick as possible. I'd say train with a bali for fun, and running for sd.

Really a nice piece of balisong knife. Do you use them for every day carry to outdoors or you keep this in your knife collection?Rrahulkumar wrote:Kalyan-da.. sometimes i think they may even declare breathing pure air illegal in India...ckkalyan wrote:
