Hello from Georgia...
Hello everybody,
After having read multiple requests to abide by certain rules I found my way to this section. As I understood each novice opens a new topic to introduce him/herself. So here is my first one.
My name is Nana and I come from Georgia. It is a small State having regained its independence after a considerable period and it is often missing on various country lists in Internet. Apparently, this is the case with IFG too and this is why I am posting under the Indian flag.
Well, unfortunately I do not possess any gun but I am definitely for guns. To elaborate I like guns but I know very little about them. I like shooting but I dislike hunting. All my experience with guns can be summarized by shooting several times through a neighbour's shotgun in my countryside and holding my boss's bodyguards' guns while waiting in the reception. As for the theoretical knowledge it is even lesser. While in the university I borrowed from a course mate a huge Russian Encyclopedia, which he requested back so soon that I barely read anything, loved the photos though.
I hope I will learn more from IFG about guns. Many things will be beyond my understanding given the above circumstances and I will have to google and look up things in wikipedia before asking more or less comprehensible questions .
Now I am off to browse
Regards,
Nana

Welcome aboard Nana... Most of us are not very aware of the laws pertaining to Guns/ Hunting in your country - would be great if you could do a short post giving us an overview of how things work there...
If I am not mistaken, you have been indirectly involved with IFG for sometime now - accompanying our most prolific writer+moderator to review some of the London showrooms of the finest gunmakers in the world..
Look forward to seeing you post here more often.
Cheers!
Abhijeet

Thank you, gentlemen.
As for Mahindra & Madindra I did not know but I have just googled it and they seem to have established some connections with western Georgian industrial cities. Thanks to your question I have come across an interesting info about the partnership of our countries.
Oh the Boss gun... It was ages ago but the impression has not faded away yet. Pity I could not find anything in gun shops in Tbilisi that could come near those guns you showed me then . Even if not to buy just to look at .
Regards,
Nana
Thank you, penpusher. Absolutely, I will be posting about the gun laws and as for hunting to answer your question in fine it is allowed and the Ministry of the Environment Protection issues license upon the submission of an application, the copies of identity card and permission for keeping and wearing a shotgun, as well as the check certifying the payment of hunting fee which is GEL 10 = USD 6.penpusher";p="22463 wrote: Nana,

Well, yes I would feel more comfortable discussing the legislation about guns rather than the guns themselves. I am grateful to you and to penpusher for this suggestion. So I will start my assimilation .
To be true this forum is not that unfamiliar to me. Yes, thanks to Vikram, I have been visiting it quite for a while and I appreciate the knowledge that is imparted here and the way how it is imparted. I know some members by their nicks and remember some of their posts, hope will meet even more.

Nana

The pictures everyone is referring to are from a post (by Vikram) quite some time back... It's under the fine guns section -

This is a photo tour of some of the London showrooms (of the finest makes) that Vikram had done for the benefit of all members...
Cheers!
