Advice - buying a new .22lr rifle
Gentlemen...
I'm looking to buy a .22lr rifle shortly. The budget is IOF levels... and to my information I doubt anything else is available in that range.
Need some advice
1. Which dealers in Delhi would have new stock of IOF rifles, of 2014-15? I've spoken to many but no one had any. Are there any specific dealers who stock new IOF .22lrs?
2. When inspecting a rifle for purchase, what would be the basic, key aspects to inspect and how does one evaluate those parameters?
3. What are the modalities of installing sights? I'm keen on putting a scope for recreational shooting and a Peep sight for competitions? Do I purchase my own and mount on integrated dovetail or are there any issues I need to keep in mind?
Thanks,
~C

Re: Advice - buying a new .22lr rifle
My advise would be to pick it up directly from IOF. As per my knowledge they sell it to the individual users directly also. (.315 and 30.06 are not sold to individuals but only to dealers). Also buying directly from IOF would be much cheaper than what you would get from a dealer.

Hi,
From what I understand, the difference in price is not much, especially if you factor in the travel and other costs.
Plus the sale restriction is another factor.
Thats why i'm looking for dealers with stock.

See afaik all iof rifles are diff in behaviour (seniors input req) there are several factory made which have awesome tuning (sight, stock etc.) Else buy one visit a good gunsmith, get stock & sights changed, barrel tapred & its very much similar to brno.

@ chandan, price of IOF.22LR in kerala is 57k including all taxes,
Sometimes if you want to get rid of the gun, you have to pick the gun up.
